Um pouco sobre meu Summer Ministry na França

            Agora é muito fácil para mim de escrever aqui sobre meu ministério. Tentarei ser sucinto e escrever mais do que cinco lições que aprendi durante o meu ministério aqui, ajudando a Igreja Batista de Lunel, no sul da França, auxiliando o pastor Pablo Sacilotto, pastor missionario da Junta de Missoes Nacionais (JMM).

Eu tinha três particulares objetivos para aprender aqui durante o meu ministério: (1) conhecer mais do cristianismo da França, (2) aprender a língua e a cultura francesa e (3) ajudar a igreja no que for possível. Graças a Deus estou muito contente por ter aprendido realmente muito mais do que eu imaginava. Esses dois meses foram bem intensos para mim.

Aprendi francês em um curso intensivo, estudando praticamente todos os dias, três horas por dia. Com isso, fui capaz de interagir mais com os irmãos da igreja, me preparar para futuras vindas missionarias para aqui, escrever sermões, traduzi-los para o francês e pregando-os em cultos dominicais. 

Visita à Igreja Batista de Nimes

Visitei irmãos da igreja e participei de reuniões da liderança da igreja. Assim, aprendi também um pouco mais da cultura francesa e mais de como a igreja é organizada e gerida pelos seus lideres.

Aprendi que a maioria das igrejas francesas possui entre 20 a 80 membros. Igrejas maiores que isso costumam ser igrejas mais antigas ou carismáticas. Mega-igrejas encontramos apenas ou principalmente nas grandes capitais do país, como Paris. 

Aprendi que os muçulmanos são muito numerosos aqui e eles procuram influenciar o país com sua cultura, religião, valores e tradições. Se haver muçulmanos aqui é um mal? Haver muçulmanos nesse país podemos ver como uma oportunidade, para pregar o evangelho já que não pode pregar no pais deles.

Tratando de igrejas protestantes, temos aqui a igreja reformada, sendo uma das maiores denominações presentes no país. Essas igrejas reformadas costumam ser muito litúrgicas, valorizando mais a arte, por exemplo, e algumas chegam a serem mais liberais.

Percebi que pastores e lideres capacitados aqui é uma necessidade. Existem pastores pastoreando cerca cinco igrejas ao mesmo tempo. As igrejas dão benefícios para incentivar a formação de mais pastores.

Uma de minhas pregaçoes na Igreja Batista de Lunel

A lição nada mais é senão estar ligado tão somente a Jesus Cristo, ou seja, a subversão completa ao pragmatismo, de todo ideal, de todo legalismo! Para Jesus ser o único conteúdo não pode haver qualquer outro.

Eu, Glauber, não gosto de dizer aos outros o que gosto ou não, pois isso me separa do outro. Prefiro aprender a gostar do que o outro gosta e de evitar o que ele não gosta, evitando assim divergências, parcialidade ou favoritismos. Penso que Paulo seguia essa mesma ideologia. É isso o que aprendi em minhas relações com pessoas de tantas culturas diversas.

Aprendi a não olhar ninguém como nosso inimigo.

A little bit about my Summer Ministry in France

It is now very easy for me to write here about my ministry. I'll try to be succinct and write more than five lessons I learned during my ministry here helping a church in southern France.

I had three particular goals to learn here during my ministry: (1) to know more of Christianity in France, (2) to learn the language and the French culture and (3) to help the church in any way possible. Thanks to God I'm very glad to have actually learned much more than I imagined. These two months have been pretty intense for me.

I learned French in an intensive course, studying every day, about three hours a day. With that, I was able to interact more with the brothers in the church; to write sermons, translate them in French and preaching them in some Sunday services.

I visited some the brothers in the church and I attended some meetings of the church leadership. So also learned a bit of French culture over and over how the church is organized and managed by their leaders.

I learned that most French churches has between 20-80 members. Churches larger than that tend to be older or charismatic churches. Churches with more than one thousand members you can find only or primarily in major capital cities such as Paris.

I learned that Muslims are very numerous here and they try to influence the country with their culture, religion, values ​​and politics. If there is bad to have Muslims here? To have Muslims in this country we can see as an opportunity to preach the gospel to them too.

Treating about Protestant churches, we have here the Reformed Church as one of the largest denominations in the country, excluding charismatic. These Reformed churches tend to be very liturgical, valuing the art, for example, and some may be more liberal. I realized that pastors and trained leaders is a necessity here. There are pastors pastoring about five churches at the same time. Churches give benefits to encourage the formation of more pastors.

The lesson is nothing more than being connected so only to Jesus Christ, in other words, the complete subversion to the pragmatism, the whole ideal of all legalism! To Jesus to be the only content there may not be any other content.

I, Glauber, do not like to tell others what I like or what I do not like because it can separate me from the other. I prefer to learn to like what the other likes and avoid what he dislikes, thus avoiding differences, unfairness or favoritism. I think Paul followed this same ideology. That's what I learned in my relationships with people of many different cultures. I also learned not to look anyone as our enemy. And I learned many other things, but I've spent my text limit. For more than that, just come to me and talk with me personally! I will always be available! ;)
